Franklin D. Wingate, Jr.

Mr. Franklin D. (J.R.) Wingate, Jr. age 60, of Cherryville, NC passed away at Atrium Health Cleveland on Saturday, December 16th, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Bratton Funeral Home located at 1455 Filbert Highway, York, SC with the graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745, with Pastor Matt Burrell officiating.

J.R. was born on July 8, 1963, in Chester, SC. He was the son of the late Franklin D. Wingate, Sr. and Nancy Jordan Wingate. He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.

J.R. is survived by his son, Marcus Wingate (Brittany); his daughter, Amanda Wingate Allen (Joe); his grandchildren, Sophia, Rylan, Lillian, and Victor. Also, his siblings Lisa Sullivan (Luke), Debbie Wampler (Steve), Roger Wingate, and Brian Wingate (Jessica).

In addition to his parents, J.R. was preceded in death by his sister Angel Wingate.
