Frances (Wood) Nichols

Mrs. Frances Ethel Wood Nichols, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, located at 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with burial at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, SC.

Frances was born on March 22, 1934, in Bessemer City, NC, to the late Charlie Wood and Bertie Bell Dailey Wood. She was the beloved wife of the late Reverend Marshall Nichols.

Frances had a love for reading and cooking and was known by many as the greatest biscuit maker ever. She found joy in solving puzzles, singing and baking delicious cakes and pies. In her quieter moments, she loved watching Little House on the Prairie, cherishing its simple and heartfelt stories.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Judy Conrad (Gary), Joyce Brewer (Ed), Sandra Ramsey (John), and Shannon Patterson (Jerry). She also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by her daughters, Ronda Smith and Hannah Renee Nichols; her son, Glen Nichols; and her siblings, Hoyt Wood, Frank Wood, Johnny Wood, Dan Wood, Geneva Whetstine, Othelia Broughton, and Virginia Davenport.
