Frances (Jackson) Dougan

Frances Jackson Dougan, age 80, of York, SC passed away at her home on Friday, November 28, 2025.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC 29745. The funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at South Gastonia Church of God, 310 Carolina Ave. Gastonia, NC 28052 with Pastor Adrian Franklin and Pastor Bobby Gilley officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery in Hickory Grove, SC.

Frances was born on November 22, 1945 in Sharon, SC. She was the daughter of the late Blease Jackson and Nell Green Jackson and was the loving widow of the late Robert Evans Dougan, Sr. Frances was a devoted member of South Gastonia Church of God and often visited Hickory Grove Church of God with her sister, Sue. She loved to take trips to the beach and the mountains and was an avid shopper, always finding the best deals on clothing.

Frances is survived by her son, Rob Dougan, Jr.; her granddaughters, Cassie Dougan and Bella Dougan; her sisters, Dot Moss, Sue Devon, Pam Erwin, and Marie Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Jackson, Robert Jackson, Eddie Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Gerald Jackson, and Buddy Jackson; and her sisters, Glenda Blancke, Betty Sexton, and Jeannette Hubbard.
