Faye (Comer) Russell

Mrs. Faye Comer Russell, age 90, of Hickory Grove, SC passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 27th, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 3852 Woodlawn St. Sharon, SC 29742, on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. The funeral service will begin at 11am in the church sanctuary with Pastor Max Russell officiating and Pastor Jeff Gilfillan assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Faye was born on April 3rd, 1934 in Hickory Grove, SC. She was the daughter of the late Fred Arnold Comer and Mattie Ramsey Comer and was the widow of Joe Crosby Russell. Faye was a lifetime member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and was very active in her community. She worked at Celanese before staying home to raise her children and to tend to the farm.

Faye is survived by her children: Earl Russell (Carol), Nan Ciullo, Donald Russell (Angela), Peggy Boloyan (Myron), Ronald Russell (Sharon), and Billy Russell; her seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Faye was preceded in death by her 6 brothers and 6 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
