Ernie Marvin Brazell

Mr. Ernie Brazell, age 80, of York, SC passed away at Piedmont Medical Center on Saturday, December 30th, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 2– 3 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Bratton Funeral Home, located at 1455 Filbert Highway, York, SC, with the funeral service immediately following and officiated by Rev. Donald Mitchelson.

Ernie was born on October 16, 1944 in McConnells, SC. He was the son of the late Wilbert Brazell and Lilly Smith Brazell. He was retired from Duke Power and Carowinds.

Ernie is survived by his daughters, Linda “Susie” Mitchelson (Donald) and Janet Townsend (Andy), his grandchildren, Heather Duggins (Chris), Tyler Townsend, Josh Townsend (Kayla) and his great-grandchildren, Madison Mitchelson, Mason Mitchelson, and Izzabella Townsend. He is also survived by his 12 siblings.

In addition to his parents Ernie was preceded in death by his grandson, D. J. Mitchelson.

In memory of Ernie, memorials may be made to the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
