Erik Daniel Brakefield

Erik Daniel Brakefield, 41, of York, SC passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery, Hickory Grove, SC, with the Reverend Milton Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at his mother’s, Danette’s, home.

Erik was born on January 28, 1981 in Gastonia, NC. He was the son of Danette Moss Brakefield and the late Richard “Rick” or “Skunk” Brakefield. He was an avid Redskins and Gamecocks fan.

Erik is survived by his wife, Sharon Lorene Pennington Brakefield; sons: Justin Brakefield (Faith), Kobe Brakefield, and Erik Brakefield, Jr.; daughter, Emma Brakefield; and granddaughter, Paisley-Kay Brakefield. He was also survived by his mother, Danette Brakefield; and brothers: Scott Brakefield (Andrea), Travis Brakefield (Dana), and Steven Moss (Pam).
