Edmond F. Ivey, 78, of York, SC passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill, SC.
Edmond was born on November 5, 1943 in Robeson County, NC. He was the son of the late James Ivey, Sr. and Louise Fisher Ivey. Edmond was a member of Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church here in York, SC where he was loved by his church family. His favorite Bible verse being, II Chronicles 7:14… “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Edmond was an avid fisherman who loved going to the coast to catch flounder, which is how he got his nickname, “Flounderman”.
Edmond is survived by his wife, Barbara Crews Ivey; daughter, Karen McClure (Keith); son, Kenneth Grice (Janet); grandchildren: Kristen Grice, Kenny Grice, Mary McClure, and Alisyn McClure; and sisters, Peggy Drabenstat and Margaret Penland.
In addition to his parents, Edmond was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Ivey, James Ivey, Jr., and Melvin Ivey, Sr.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ivey will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church.
