Obituary
Doris Newell Jonas, 78, of McConnells, SC passed away on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 at Bratton Funeral Home in York, SC and other times at her daughter, Shay’s home. The funeral will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in McConnells, SCs with Rev. Barry Yates and Rev./Dr. Derek Marota officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Doris was born on September 15, 1944 in York County. She was the daughter of late Harry Patton Newell and Marie Rollins Newell. Doris is survived by her daughters, Sharon Turney (Randy), Amy Killian (Bryan); grandchildren: Josh Turney, Justin Turney (Hannah), Preston Jonas, Meagan Thompson (Kris); step-grandchildren, Avery Killian, Andrew Killian, Yancy Killian; and seven great-grandchildren: Aleah, Alexis, Joshlyn, Baylor, Leighton, Bennett and Caleb.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband Walter Jonas, brother Donald Newell and sister Helen Bradshaw.
