Doris (Brackett) Hughes

Doris Hughes of Smyrna, SC peacefully passed away with her daughters by her side at her home on July 27, 2023. Doris was born in Rock Hill, SC.

The family will hold a celebration of life at Union Baptist Church 1945 Ratchford Road, York, SC 29745 on August 27th, 2023 at 1 pm. Please join the family for lunch and a time of remembrance. 

Doris was the daughter of George Esso Brackett and Juniata Davis Brackett.

She touched many lives during her time on earth. She loved living a peaceful life in the country, watching preaching at night with her cats. She peacefully went to Heaven listening to songs of praise.

The family rejoices that Doris has reunited with her parents, children and siblings is in Heaven. Words cannot express the family’s gratitude toward our church and friends for the love shown during her last days.

Doris is survived by her daughters Janice Feagin Warlick (Ken) of Leslie, SC, Wanda Feagin Wood (Ted) of Smyrna, SC, Dahle (Jerry) Feagin of Summerville, SC and by her 14 grandchildren, Gina Sexton, Tammy (Ronal) Quinn, Nelson Jaime, Audrey (Chris) Bratton, Courtney (Damien) Morales, Daniel Feagin, Jaida Feagin, Jerry Feagin Jr, Dale (Holly) Feagin, Elizabeth (Justin) Blaisdell, Jason (Pam) Ashworth, Ken (Jessica) Warlick, Ted Wood Jr, Kym Wilson. 20 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. And her cats Sarge and Trooper.

Doris was the last living child of her parents nine children. She was proceeded in death by her daughters Jeannie Feagin and Katherine Feagin and her son Jerry Feagin.
