Deborah Jean (West) McHargue

Deborah Jean West McHargue, age 69, of York, SC passed away at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Deborah was born on August 24, 1954 in Charleston, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Herbert West and Janet Lucille Richardson West. She was a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.

Deborah is survived by her siblings, Martha Atkins (Charlie) of West Virginia, Delores Adkins of West Virginia, Tom West (Carrie) of Ohio, and Mike West (Melissa) of West Virginia. And her best friends Cathy and Kathy.  In addition to her parents, Deborah was also preceded in death by her husband Vernon Eugene “Chief” McHargue and her brother Ralph Allen West.

Per Deborah’s request, she was cremated and did not want any formal service.

In memory of Deborah, memorials may be made to the West Highland White Terrier Rescue of one’s choice.
