David Wilkerson

Mr. David Carlisle Wilkerson, age 65, of Hickory Grove, SC passed away on Friday, November 10th, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC, and other times at the family home. The funeral service will be held the following day at 11 am at Mt. Vernon Church, 2160 Smithford Rd. Hickory Grove, SC, with Pastor Alan Peeler and Pastor Eddie Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

David was born on January 9th, 1958 in Gaffney, SC. He was the son of the late James Thomas “JT” Wilkerson and Mary Frances Yelton Wilkerson. David was a retired Maintenance Mechanic and has spent his life as a cattle farmer. He had a love for dirt track racing and spreading God’s word.

David is survived by his wife, Sandra Bolin Wilkerson; his son, Josh Wilkerson and his wife, Meredith and their son, Clay; and his sisters, Teresa Mattox (Mark) and Jennifer Wilkerson.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, James Walter “Jimmy” Wilkerson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David’s name to Mt. Vernon Church, PO Box 158 Hickory Grove, SC 29717, Unity Baptist Church, 2300 Irene Bridge Rd. Hickory Grove, SC 29717, Vision Racing Ministries, 440 Community Rd. Shelby, NC 28152 or to any other church of one’s choice.
