Darrin Henry Blackwood

Darrin Henry Blackwood, 57, of York, SC passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Darrin’s life at 1:00 PM on March 25, 2023 at the residence 2092 Sutton Spring Rd. York, SC 29745. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish for a potluck lunch. 

Darrin was born on December 2, 1965, in York, SC.  He was the son of Francis Lucille Sexton Blackwood and the late Charles Edward Blackwood.

 Darrin was larger than life with a heart of gold. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. But give you a lecture about why you needed it and what you needed to do to make sure you didn’t need it again. But if you did need it again, he had your back. He was the type of man who always put his wife and kids (including his grandkids) before anyone or anything. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially to watch the Clemson football games. He was loved hard and will be greatly missed by all.

 He is survived by his wife, Gina Buchanan Blackwood, his children: Jeremy Lee Blackwood (Lacey), Amber Nicole Blackwood Miner (Dustin), and Katie Blackwood Puckett (Luke); his siblings:  Rob Blackwood, Clay Blackwood (Pat), Ivy Dodig (Dave), Donald Blackwood (Dessie), Dennis Blackwood (Sandy), and Debra Thompson (Roger), as well as eight grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Darrin was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Blackwood and David Blackwood.

Services for Darrin will be announced at a later date.
