Claude E Hicks, Sr.

Claude E. Hicks, Sr. 86, passed away on April 22, 2025, at Palmetto Patriots Veterans Home in Gaffney, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Virginia Hicks, his wife Sylvia Hicks, his sons, Claude Hicks, Jr. and Herbert Lee Hicks, Jr. Also, his siblings David Hicks, Pat Hicks, Danita Hicks.

He is survived by his daughters: Theresa Williams, Louise Gregory, Peggy Phillips, Darlene Vuchak (Dan), his grandchildren: Scotty Morris (Jessica), Angela Morris, Crystal Quick (Bobby), Roger Jennings, Valerie Palubiak (Robbie), Candice Medlin, Joshua Parmentier (Tonilynn), Joseph Hicks (Maria), Clayton Hicks (Brandy), Ashley Dayton, and 22 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Janice Holliday (George), Roger Hicks (Carol).

Claude was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family. He was retired from the US Army, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He married Sylvia Hicks in 1964, and they were happily married for 59 years. They raised 2 sons and 4 daughters together and were loving grandparents and great grandparents. 

A celebration of life will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Palmetto Patriots Veterans Home located at 120 Hampshire Dr, Gaffney, SC 29341.

Rest in peace, Claude, Father, Granddad, Brother and Proud Veteran. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who love you! You are reunited with your wife, and boys, at last.
