Mr. Christopher Chalmers Revels, age 66, of Smyrna, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Broad River Baptist Church, 2315 Legion Rd., Smyrna, SC 29743, with Reverend Paul Willey and Reverend Rick Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Chris was born on December 29, 1958, in York County, SC. He was the son of Virginia Martin Revels and the late Chalmers Revels. A proud graduate of York High School (Class of 1976) and Clemson University (Class of 1980), Chris dedicated his life to public service.
He retired as Chief Park Ranger from Kings Mountain National Military Park after an impressive 40 years of service. In addition, he dedicated 21 years to York School District One, where he served as Vice Chairperson at the time of his passing. Chris was also employed by the South Carolina Forestry Commission as the Upstate Wildland Fire Prevention Coordinator and served as the Logistics Chief Coordinator for the Southern Area Complex Incident Management Team One. A faithful and devoted member of Broad River Baptist Church in Smyrna, SC, he actively served his community through his work with the South Carolina Jaycees, where he was honored as a JCI South Carolina Senator.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Wilson Revels; his sons, Christopher “Cody” Revels and Will Revels (Kaylen); his cherished grandchildren, Stella Blaire Revels and Chloe Revels; his mother, Virginia Martin Revels; and his brother, Marty Revels (Cristina).
