Charles Pinkney Alexander

Mr. Charles P. Alexander, 88, went to his eternal home on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. He was surrounded by his family and friends and passed peacefully.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 in the Fellowship Hall at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 3852 Woodlawn St. Sharon, SC 29742. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm in the church cemetery with Pastor Max Russell officiating.

Charles was born in York County on October 10, 1934. He was the son of the late Eldred P. Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Green Alexander and was the widower of Annie Lois Kimble Alexander who was the love of his life. Charles loved staying busy. His favorite job was when he worked for Wrenn Brothers as a forklift mechanic. He was an avid NASCAR fan, only pulling for Ford cars of course. He enjoyed restoring his T-birds and you could always find him in one of his garages or sitting in his recliner, reading some type of car magazine, or watching Gunsmoke.

Charles is survived by his son, Dale Alexander of the home; his daughter, Wanda Alexander Milem (Keith) of York; his brother, Richard Alexander (Sandra) of York; as well as his granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Milem and grandson Ryan Keith Milem of York. He is also survived by bonus granddaughter, Toni Milem Phillips (Chad); bonus great granddaughter, Meagan Lucenta Harden (PJ); bonus great grandson, Garrett Phillips, bonus great-great grandson, Hayden Harden; bonus great-great granddaughters, Emmy Harden and Izzy Harden all of North Carolina, and his special friend, Deb Bender of Rock Hill, SC, as well as his nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his infant son, Charles Timothy Alexander; his brother, Harold Alexander and his wife, Patsy of Filbert, SC; and his sister, Shirley Alexander Feemster and her husband Jim, of Lockhart, SC.
