Carl David Lanier

Carl David Lanier, 84, of Smyrna, SC passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

Carl was born on October 22, 1937 in Greenwood, SC. He was the son of the late William P. Lanier and Hallie Lee Lanier. He retired from the US Marine Corps and was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church in Smyrna, SC.
Carl is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Seagraves Lanier, daughters, Carla Yoder (Julius), Anna Ross (Greg), Becky Merli (Patrick), son, Eric Lanier, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

The family would like to express our love and gratitude to the hospice and palliative care teams of Providence Care, and the team at Homewatch Caregivers, both in Rock Hill, SC, for your excellent attentiveness, kindness, and advice in dad's care. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 29, 2021 at New Zion United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Donald Love with Military Honors to follow.
