Brenda (Brakefield) Collins

Ms. Brenda Brakefield Collins, age 71, of York, SC, was called home on her birthday, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, to be with her Lord.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Bowling Green First Baptist Church, 1683 Hwy 321, Bowling Green, SC 29703. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Reverend Mitch Bolin officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Brenda was born on June 24, 1954, in York, SC, to the late Claude Brakefield and Edna Davis Wood. She was the widow of Sammy Collins. Brenda deeply loved her family, cherished trips to the mountains, and was a devoted member of Bowling Green First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Tania “Sissy” Davies and Benny Collins (Cindi); grandchildren: Samantha Davies, Samantha Collins, Shellie Davies, Keith Collins (Marissa), Brandon Davies (Katrina), Ashton Fernandes, and Elissa Fernandes; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Otis Brakefield (Janice), Randy Brakefield (Cheryl), Juanita Parris, and Vanessa Clinton (Johnny).

In addition to her husband and parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings: Peggy Brakefield, Teresa Brakefield, and Bobby Brakefield.
