Billy Ray Greene

Mr. Billy Ray Greene, age 79, of York, South Carolina, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

There is a celebration of life service at 1 P M on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home, 204 Chicago Lane, York, SC.

Billy was born on March 28, 1946, in Andrews, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Homer Dwayne Greene and Hazel Ruth Stewart Davidson. He retired from Champion Lab in York as a welder/fabricator. He raised money every year to buy bicycles for the children at the Episcopal Church Home of York.

He is survived by wife Daphne Jones Greene, his daughters, Elizabeth Greene Hope (Davy Poole), and Billie Ann Greene Mitchell (Scott), his grandchildren, William Hope, Faith Hope (Connor Oxendine), Matthew Mitchell, Anna Mitchell, and Mark Mitchell, along with his great granddaughter, Iris Oxendine.  He is also survived by his sister Mary Eury (George).

In addition to his parents Billy is also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Greene and Jerry Greene.
