Betty Jean (Jonas) McCarter

Betty Jean Jonas McCarter, 83, of Clover, SC passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM on Friday July 19, 2024 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC 29745. A graveside service will at 10 AM on Saturday July 20, 2024 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC with Pastor John E. Green officiating.

Betty Jean was born on June 27, 1941 in Filbert, SC. She was the daughter of the late William Calvin Jonas and Ollieva Erixney McAbee Jonas. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Clover, SC and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Betty Jean is survived by her, daughters, Karen Liles (Scott), Tess Smith (Carl), and Shannon Greene (Marty). She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Floyd R. McCarter and her siblings, Margaret Green, Bill Jonas, and David Jonas, her granddaughter Brittany Smith and great granddaughter Theo Smith.
