Betty (Melton) Harris

Ms. Betty Melton Harris, age 84, of York, SC passed away on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC, and other times at Ms. Betty’s home. The funeral service will be held the following day at the funeral home at 1 pm with Pastor Tommy Hope officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Betty was born on December 24th, 1939 in Chester, SC. She was the daughter of the late Will Hardin Melton and Lula Dessie Estes Smith and the widow of Robert Harris, Jr. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her son, Robert “Rick” Harris (Debra), her sister, Helen Ellis; her six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and her five great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Charles D. Harris.
