Audrey (Gouge) Peters

Ms. Audrey Gouge Peters, age 81, of York, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at White Oak Manor of York.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Highway, York, SC 29745. Reverend Stan DeGraw will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

Audrey was born on July 21, 1943, in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Luman Benton Gouge and Mae Cole Gouge. She was the devoted wife of the late James Edward Peters. Audrey was of the Baptist faith and faithfully attended Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church when able.

She is survived by her children: sons Vince Peters (Aggie Ferguson), David Peters (Michelle), Nathan Peters (Jo Ann), and daughter Sonya Brinkley (Marcus). She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amber Peters, and her siblings: Jack Gouge, Eunice Gass, Dan Gouge, Willis Gouge, and L.C. Gouge.
