Andrew Jackson Dover

Mr. Andrew “Jackie” Jackson Dover, age 83, formally of York, SC passed away on Sunday, November 26th, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm at Sanctuary Hills Church of God of Prophecy 1289 Lincoln Rd York, SC on Thursday, November 30, 2023. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm at the church with Pastor Daniel Martin and Pastor Earl Young officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Jackie was born on April 6th, 1940 in York, SC. He was the son of the late Bub Dover, Sr. and Lothesie Bolin Dover. He worked as an Industrial Machinery Technician and was a member of Sanctuary Hills Church of God of Prophecy. Being a “Jack of all trades”, he enjoyed helping others and was always ready to lend a hand whenever asked or for those in need.  He was a very kind-hearted, generous man who was quick to show his gratitude.  Above all he was a good man. His spontaneous antics will be remembered by all who knew him and his absence will be sorely noted by those close to him.  We will never forget him.

Jackie is survived by his sons, Jerry Dover (Lisa), Tony A. Dover; his grandchildren: Derrick, Andrew, Susan and Amanda; his great grandchildren: Elijah, Ethan, Ariel, Julian, Lilia, Merida, Presley, Kade, Ollie, and baby Mary who will be arriving soon. Jackie is also survived by his four brothers: Steve Dover, Kenny Dover, Acey Dover, and Casey Dover; and his four sisters: Annie Mae Zirkle, Joyce Ligon, Tonie Owens, and Anne Harvell.

In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his sisters, Olivene Martin and Geraldine “Tootsie” Dover, and his brother, Bub “Rooster” Dover, Jr.
