Amber Davis Faulkner, 42, of Hickory Grove, SC, passed away on Wednesday January 17, 2024. The family will receive friends from 1 PM – 2 PM on Friday January 19, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Church, with a celebration of Amber's life beginning at 2 PM with Pastor Eddie Bolin and Pastor Sam Murphy officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the home of Phillip and Lynn Faulkner, 1684 Walnut Grove Road, Hickory Grove, SC.
Amber was born in Gaffney, SC on Friday, November 13th, 1981, and was the luckiest gift we ever received on a historically unlucky day. She was the daughter of Phillip and Lynn Faulkner, also affectionally known as “Daddy Boy” and “My Mommy.” She was surely the bright spot in their days! Amber earned a certification of completion from York School District One and is a member of Mt. Vernon Church.
In addition to her father and mother, Amber is survived by “the sisters and her T’s”, Michelle Sanders (Timmy), Lyndsay Johnson (Todd), and Sarah Murner (Taylor), all of Hickory Grove, SC; her favorite nephew, Trent Sandifer (Brooke) and his father Jamie Sandifer; her sweet little nieces, Maggie Sanders, Willow Murner, Pailyn Murner, and Alleigh Sanders; Willie and Mallory Johnson; the little boy who made her a “great aunt,” James Brenton Sandifer; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Amber was preceded in death by her loving and doting grandparents, Luke Burgess, Sarah Howell Burgess, William Meek “Bud” Faulkner, and Betty Whitesides Faulkner. She was also preceded in death by her uncle, Dale Burgess.
Amber loved spending time with her family and never missed out on all the fun! She was the keeper of our secrets and tried her best to keep everyone in line. Amber loved to ride her pony, Princess, and spent her evenings checking cows with her daddy. She truly celebrated life to the fullest and added joy to everyone’s life she impacted. Amber always looked forward to visits from friends and loved ones, had a unique way of telling people how much she loved them, and made everyone she cared about feel special. Amber “didn’t ask for much” and was surely the easiest of the four daughters to raise, according to her daddy, but she loved a little gift for no reason, people to sing the Happy Birthday song to her, the joy of Christmas morning with her family, and a new keychain or pocketbook!
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amber’s caregivers at Providence Hospice and Palliative Care in Rock Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Care LLC at 1218 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732 or to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, PO Box 947765, Atlanta, GA, 30394.
