Alice (McClure) Nichols

Alice McClure Nichols, age 87, of York, SC passed away on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at Magnolia Manor of Rock Hill, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 at New Zion UMC, 4077 Black Hwy York, SC 29745. The funeral service will begin at 11 am in the church sanctuary with Pastor Mike Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Alice was born on February 18th, 1936 in Clover, SC. She was the daughter of the late Ernest McClure and Bessie Branham Parker and the widow of Grady Meek Nichols. Alice sang in the choir at her church, New Zion UMC and gifted many people each year with Christmas ball ornaments.

Alice is survived by her sons, Jody Nichols (Alysia), Tracy Nichols; 5 grandchildren: Hunter, Kelsey, Grayson, Tasha, and Timmy; and numerous great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Carroll; her grandson, Brantley; and her sisters, Ailene Burns and Mary Ellen Neely.
