Alfred Wallace Ramsey

Alfred Wallace Ramsey, age 87, of York, SC passed away on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Bratton Funeral Home located at 1455 Filbert Highway, York, SC.  The Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kathy Pryor officiating. Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post 12136 Honor Guard. 

Wallace was born on May 9, 1936, in York, SC to the late Wallace Roy Ramsey and Ola Montgomery Ramsey.  He was a veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Lanier Ramsey; his children, Allen Ramsey (Amy), Sherry Ramsey Moose (Guy Hudson); his sisters, Nancy Lanier, Joyce Montgomery (Wayne), and Sarah Shank; his brother, Lawrence Ramsey; his grandchildren, Steven Chase Moose (Kristina), Parker Allen Ramsey, and Kristen Moose Compton (Ricky); his great grandchildren, Wyatt Bryan Compton, and Colton Taylor Compton.

In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his sisters, Mamie Brady, and Edna Rollins.

Memorials may be made in Wallace’s name to Philadelphia United Methodist Church at 2260 Chester Highway York, SC 29745 or the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House at 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
